My prediction for the "car to have" would be the Celica GTS or the Genesis Coupe. My "could have a chance" cars include the last gen Sentra SE-R Spec-v, new Civic Si, new VW GTI, 1st gen Neon, Neon SRT-4, Mazdaspeed Protege, and the GS-R. I think it would be hard to beat the Celica or Genesis though.

Mazdaspeed would be a hidden dark horse in GS. Hyooonday is a gimme, the GT would be better than the GTS and I know where there is a set of Koni DAs sitting in a Garage in K-Town.

Its a Hawaiian theme for this Solo so Grass Skirts (Cho-Ray) and Hawaiian shirts are acceptable. Cho we could give away a special awards to those who go "all out" for this one.

at least the gs-r is in the "could have a chance" category....
what does the GTS have that the GSR doesn't, i was under the impression
that they are pretty much exactly the same, "number" wise anyway...

Based on historical evidence, the Integra Type-R was the GS car, then when it got bumped to DS, the Celica took over until the Mini was introduced, not the GS-R. The big problem with the Integra is lack of front camber adjustment. I really wanted to build a 94 Integra RS for HS this year, but the lack of camber will kill it against the strut cars. I'm guessing that the Celica has some sort of adjustment or crash bolts that will really help it.

Here are the specs (from Edmunds.com)
                2000 GTS        1994 GSR
HP              180                   170
Torque       133                   128
Weight       2500                 2667
Wheels      16x6.5               15x6

While the GTS had mo HP than the GT it was all WAAAAYYYYY UP THHHEEEERRRREEE in the revs. The GT has better gearing and better torque. GTS has 6 speed BUT NOThing down under. The Koni's are for the Toyota. Robert Carpenter has very good insight on this, even at one time had me looking for a 2001 GT and they are his Konis.

Well its the same way with the Integra. The GS-R's power is way up there. The LS has better low end. The LS actually has more displacement than the GS-R since its basically a stroked GS-R motor minus VTEC. I've always said the LS is a better auto-x car than the GS-R (at least in ST trim, hence why I wanted to build a HS car).

this isn't the first i've heard of this, but the thing is, when you're in the market.
it hard to not get a GS-R due to the VTEC, it's just ... weird, but good.
besides, coming from the GTI, the GS-R has some CLOSE gearing
therefore, i dont think i will miss the "low end" of the GTI

i'm also planning on picking up more track days, and that's where them VTECs really matter Thumbs Up

There was a guy from canada that posed a white 328is that looked JUST like the one that used to be in front of fast-tech (i used to drool over that thing when back in the day haha), i thought he bought it? So the guy in atl actually bought it? or was there more than one 328is that brian had?

That car now has motons i think, it's built to sh*t.

Justin,

i got tons of stuff like that i find on the forums lol.

My bad, his name is Brian Bell.
I'm not sure hown many 328s Brian has owned.  Flanigan put Motons on that car, but David had to replce the rears because they were shot.
Last spring Brian Bell  put it in a ditch in Huntsville at a test and tune.  He got a little crazy in the slalom and tried to save it, his wife was PISSED.  She can drive better than he can, and was getting on to him because he was already late after the second slalom. We were rolling!!

All I know from my earlier days, is that regardless of the GTS 180hp vs. the GSR 170hp, the GTS gets owned on the skreetz and strips......lol.  Every-which-way.  GS-R, Neva Lose, unless to older brother, Type R, then it always looooooosseeee.LOL

that's where my logic was coming from,
in HS (that's high school) i had 2 friends, one in a GS-R, one had a GTS,
one day i asked the guy in the GTS if he could get around the GS-R, and he said
"it's pretty even until VTEC kicks in"

...according to WIKI the GTS had a more advanced Variable Valve Timing System than all hondas until the K-Series engines, with the i-Vtec ...
Translation: the GTS has bigger VTECs than the GS-R (according to WIKI of course)
but i guess that doesn't really matter does it?"
